With solar geysers that Sun Scan sells, you are on your means to doing your bit for the atmosphere, i.e. making usage of natural deposits to heat your water. We are quite privileged living in South Africa as we enjoy the sunshine virtually the entire all year. Even in winter season we have great deals of bright days to store up the organic energy resource as well as transform it right into the power for heating and air conditioning. Using solar hot springs is not only eco-friendly yet also quite set you back as well as energy effective. The general public and also the corporate world have been encouraged to transform to solar power as well as to conserve power anywhere feasible. Eskom is offering rebates on their electrical energy accounts to families utilizing solar geysers. Solar geysers include a storage space reservoir as well as solar panels. The panels are bolted to the beyond a building where they will gather most the sun’s rays and also transform it into solar energy in order to heat up the water for use in the home.

> SunScan Solar Geyser Prices Cape Town

The method the solar geyser jobs are that the water in the hot spring is stirred around by active solar home heating or passive solar heating.  The active solar geyser system uses mechanical tools such as pumps and blowers and also an outside source of power to assist with the heating of the house when solar power is not sufficient.

The passive blood circulation solar hot spring systems do not have pumps and also commands. With passive flow, the warm water rises to the top and is kept in the tank. The cold water streams down right into the storage space container (enthusiast) here for the home heating procedure to start again. For this system to work effectively, the collector must be put below the geyser. This system functions best in areas where temperatures do not fall listed below freezing. They are also ideal for families that require warm water both during daytime and night.

Conservation efforts and successes of 2015 on Ibo Island

Passionate staff based at Ibo Island Lodge and their dive and activity centre, Dive Quirimbas, have been doing their best to provide extra conservation support to the Quirimbas National Park (QNP). They are helping by providing extra eyes out on the water and donating fuel to enable the busy rangers to perform more regular patrols within the park.

Already this year the team has had one major success. When one of the QNP rangers,Malenga, was heading out towards the mainlandon a night patrol on April 25th, he came across a boat carrying seven live turtles which had been caught in a net. The hunters were on their way to the mainlandto slaughter these beautiful and rare creatures. Malenga and his crew apprehended the fishermen, their boat and nets and the Police then stepped in.

For centuries, the people of Ibo Island have used the island’s natural resources for survival. Unfortunately this has caused over-fishing, destructive netting practices, trade in curios that exploit natural treasures and slash and burn agriculture – all threats to the sensitive biodiversity of the Quirimbas Archipelago region. Read more about the local culture right here.

It is therefore vital to maintain the balance of the sensitive ecology of the Mozambique Quirimbas Archipelago with the need to develop and provide comfort to tourists and jobs to locals – all stake holders need to join hands to actively conserve the natural environment.

In another incident, the Dive Quirimbas boat was out in March and unfortunately came across another net. This time however, it was too late for the poor turtles. The Dive Quirimbas crew called the QNP and stayed with the net and the turtles so that they could be confiscated and destroyed. The QNP staff recognised the net and the buoys which enabled them to arrest the fisherman and owner of the boat who has been fined a hefty 170.000mts.

Ibo Island falls within the protected Quirimbas National Park: the warm turquoise waters provide feeding and or nesting grounds for Loggerhead turtles, Green, Hawksbill, Olive Ridley and Leatherback turtles. Humpback whales visit the region where they shelter their calves between July and November each year.

Other environmental conservation initiatives on Ibo Island include the school awareness projects and all the local schools are now part of a weekly litter removing project – Ibo is looking better and better every day.

In addition, the QNP and Dive Quirimbas have set up some training programs for the captains of the local hired dhows. They learn what to do when taking tourists to see the Dolphins and how the tourists should interact with them and how to approach them by boat. Ibo and Dive Quirimbas have plenty more turtle programs coming up later this year.

Visitors booking Mozambique Holidays to Ibo Island look forward to seeing the Common, Spinner, Bottle nose and Humpback dolphins as well as the Zambezi, Tiger and Black and White Tip Sharks as well as Sting rays and Manta rays.
When you book your holiday to Ibo Island, make sure you go out on a conservation patrol one day to see exactly how it all works, and visit the local school. You will feel inspired.

LASER LIPO for TURKEY NECK & DOUBLE CHIN

LASER LIPO FOR TURKEY NECK AND DOUBLE CHIN

Laser Lipo for Turkey Neck and Double Chin – Aging and genetics bring with them a host of visible issues on the face and body. Most people who begin to show their age see wrinkles and do what we can to reverse them, using a variety of treatments from face lifts to Botox® and now Thread Lift.

However, sadly, the neck and chin areas are often also showing your age but are overlooked. There is absolutely no need for that nor for radical surgery such as a neck lift. The Melrose Aesthetic Centre offers and excellent and effective alternative called Laser Lipolysis, or Laser Lipo or Laser-assisted Lipolysis, a minimally invasive procedure that can help refine and reshape those areas.

The double chin

Double chins are not a sign of being overweight as such, nor does it indicate you are old. While overweight people usually have double chins, these can develop over time on anyone, and may be caused by several factors. Gaining weight will not automatically give you a double chin nor will losing weight necessarily see it vanish.

Genetics can play a part in your propensity for getting one. The double chin can also be a simple consequence of aging. Skin loosening, and muscle loss are normal effects of the aging process, and while you may not realize it, the chin has some muscles too. When these muscles begin to slacken, your risk of developing a double chin increases. Excess body fat will also result in a double chin developing. The situation is worsened when your skin loses its tautness and elasticity. But the bottom line is it makes you look and feel old.

Turkey neck

Just like the chin, the neck is supported by muscles, age weakens muscles. So the skin over the muscles loses its support and starts to sag, giving you what is known as a turkey neck. Skin also loses elasticity since aging slows the production of elastin and collagen. UV radiation has also, over a long time, caused this area to age.

The neck is often forgotten after 40, and begins to develop a turkey neck look. Also in instance of aging, one other factor affects our skin’s ability to hold itself up and puts pressure on our weakening muscles and that is gravity. Feel under your chin and you can appreciate that with years of gravitational pull, so that your skin will eventually lose its strength and give up.

How Laser Lipo can help double chin and turkey neck

A nice profile with a defined jaw line is desirable for anyone, and refining the jaw line with Laser Lipo treatment for the chin and jowl areas will, in most cases, dramatically reshape the contours to a more normal look. In addition the skin is also tightened due to the stimulation of the collagen production by the body. You will look younger and your profile will be more natural. This Laser Lipo treatment is usually called Face and Neck Laser Assisted Lipolysis, and the treatment is safe and quite comfortable for most people.

Where it may be required, the specialist at The Melrose Aesthetic Centre will use a local anaesthetic, and possibly some mild sedative. You remain awake, and returning to normal activities can be done immediately, with very little recovery time required.

A small incision is made in the treated area, through which a thin tube, called a cannula, is inserted into the fat. Through this cannula, laser energy passes, and in effect, liquefies the fat, which is then gently removed. The time taken will vary depending on the amount of fat being removed, and the area treated, but generally for chin and jowls, about 2 hours is a safe estimate.

The Laser Lipo procedure was first used in South America by cosmetic surgeons, and quickly caught on worldwide, to become one of the most popular forms of fat reduction. Laser Lipo is also used extensively on other body areas, such as the waist, buttocks, thighs and legs.

The benefits

Of course the most obvious improvement will be the contouring of the chin and jowl areas, and a better profile. However, the costs, compared to surgical neck lifts or a face lift are a considerable benefit.

Combined with other aesthetic age-reversal treatments, including Tissue Filler, Chemical Peels or Laser Resurfacing and Thread Lift, you can drop several years from your appearance. Speak with your specialist at The Melrose Aesthetic Centre on the options available for a complete makeover. Reduced recovery time and faster healing also come top of the list of benefits.

Quirimbas Archipelago Hotels

Take your pick – choose a holiday destination of your choice in a Mozambique Quirimbas Archipelago Hotel. They are amazing places, all of them, brimming with luxury, comfort and bliss. The best part of going to this northern region of Mozambique is that you are so far from civilisation that you feel alone and utterly refreshed.

Sitting in the midst of all this beauty and pageantry is Ibo Island – so regal and proud after centuries of confusing yet fascinating history. Do you know that the Portuguese, Dutch, Indian, Arabian and the Chinese all had a hand in the houses and buildings on Ibo? Architectural heirlooms from the 1500′s are grown over with wild tropical bush.

But some are preserved and restyled into modern hotels where visitors come to learn more about that time so long ago. Ibo Island Lodge is one of these where you too will learn that as early as AD600 Arab traders had made contact with Ibo Island and then established trading posts and forts along the coastline to ship slaves, gold and ivory to the Arab world.

For hotels in the Quirimbas completely in tune with their natural environment, try Vamizi Island or Medjumbe Private Island. These Mozambique holiday destinations are so picturesque and so devoted to the area’s marine diversity and pristine beaches that visitors really switch off and tune into the natural environment around them.

At Medjumbe, 13 palm-thatched chalets are fully equipped to cocoon you in absolute bliss throughout your stay. Each chalet features a private plunge pool and access to the pristine coastline, with abundant opportunities to explore the treasures of the ocean beyond.

And at Vamizi Island, designed to take your breath away, you get to mix barefoot bliss with exclusive luxury. See it to believe it – sleep in enormous villas on this 12 km long crescent-shaped desert island where the finest linen encourage deep sleeps.

Another not to be forgotten Quirimbas Archipelago hotel is the glorious Azura at Quilalea – all villas are built from natural coral stone and makuti thatch, decorated with earthy materials.  The lodge’s refreshing green ethic means that it impacts as little as possible on the island ecology using wind generation, solar power, and rainwater harvesting and rechargeable batteries to save energy.

Focus on Zambia | Holiday Packages to 4 Deluxe Lodges | Journey in Style

By Janis Theron
Introduction:
The time has come to spoil yourself! An expedition into deepest darkest Africa can actually be really enlightening, especially when your focus is on Zambia and you choose a holiday package to a deluxe lodge for your journey in style. Take a good long look at charming accommodation in the following four deluxe resorts and regions in Zambia you can experience this winter, selected by Journey in Style for their world class value for money, wildlife sightings, elegant accommodation and first class service in stunning settings.

zambia map
1. Kafue National Park
Start with the second largest park in Africa, one that is easily accessible from Livingstone, and one which has plenty of water from its three rivers which are the source of all life in this untouched wilderness. It takes a mere two hours to get to Kafue National Park from Livingstone and when you arrive, you feel like a tiny blob within the huge 22 000 plus square kilometres of wild lands where enormous biodiversity exists. The overwhelming feeling of openness and space nurtures your soul as you settle into a luxury camp and two game drives daily.
Spending time in the accommodation at Busanga Bush Camp is all about getting back to nature in only four en-suite tents with private decks and hammocks. If you love seeing lions, you will love this Zambian safari camp where some of the best lion viewing has ever been done. The magnificent floodplains and dambos (open grassy areas) are brimming with bird and wildlife including the elusive African Wild Dog, Red Lechwe, Wildebeest and Cheetah.
Guests spend relaxing hours under the sycamore fig trees and wild date palms listening to birds, watching animals saunter by and dining on delicious meals by lantern light under a huge shady tree. Make sure you take a guided walk into the wilderness with professional game rangers who will show you some of the 491 bird species and other wild creatures up close and personal.
Kafue National Park is fed by the Lufupa river in the north-west, the Lunga and Kafue in the northeast. When the Lufupa floods in summer, it creates a vast floodplain delta system where thousands of water birds gather.
Add to this the varied habitat of floodplains, miombo woodlands and dambos that create shelter for a wide range of species – including animals that are rare or non-existent in other Southern African countries: Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, roan antelope, Defassa waterbuck and oribi. Some say that the jewel in the Kafue crown is the Busanga Plains, a vital wetland resource still untouched by human development and stretching an incredible 750 square kilometres. You should see cheetah here, one of their favorite hangouts. http://www.journeyinstyle.co.za/zambia/kafue-national-park/

2. Liuwa Plain National Park
For a thrilling Zambia safari in the middle of nowhere, look no further than the vast wildness of the Liuwa Plain National Park. You will have to head to the western province of Zambia, to the west of the Barotse Floodplain of the Zambezi River near the border with Angola. Then you will find this park, stretching nearly 4 000 square kilometres across one of the most out-of-way and least populated areas of the country – with neither road access nor facilities.
The good news is that you can book a few nights at the only remote camp in the Liuwa National Park, Matamanene Camp. Here you will find rustic accommodation that works well when the camp is open during season time. The nearest settlement is the small town of Kalabo, about 40km south which can only be reached from the provincial capital Mongu by dirt tracks and a pontoon ferry over the Zambezi River.
Did you know that Liuwa hosts the second largest wildebeest migration in Africa? And it is in this enormous wilderness area that you can view thousands of different wild animals. This Zambia safari destination is also home to more than 330 bird species on record and many predator species including the spotted hyena, lion and African wild dog.
The emphasis at Liuwa Plains is on the bush experience, not fancy facilities or luxury. If you an adventurous traveller who wants to get closer to nature then this National Park is for you. During the rainy season it is almost impossible to get around the park as all the plains are saturated in water but during the dry there is a network of good sand roads.
Nestling on a forested island, Matamanene Camp is part of this vast wilderness area packed with animals and birdlife. With its untouched open plains and clear blue skies, Liuwa Plain makes for a perfect Zambia holiday in the African bush. Enjoy the basic facilities and the exceptional standards of guiding, food and service – choose affordable Zambia safari packages for small groups and you will blend into the wilds, see plenty of wildlife and find yourself again… http://www.journeyinstyle.co.za/zambia/liuwa-plain-national-park/matamanene-camp/

3. Lower Zambezi National Park
Deep down in Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park lies the luxury family-run Chiawa Camp. The Cumings family are well-known in these parts and their safari setup has been acknowledged by many to be one of Africa’s very finest safari operations. They are very much a part of their two sensational camps, Chiawa Camp and Old Mondoro, in this beautiful park, opposite Mana Pools of Zimbabwe. If you are seeking an experiential holiday in nature, you will love that both camps are all about the wildlife, the bush, the river… and you. Enter unique havens of warmth and hospitality where all concerned are dedicated to making your safari dreams come true.
At the award-winning Chiawa Camp, you will be part of a strong conservation ethos and commitment to community, and you will see for yourself the renowned personalized service that is evident throughout every aspect of both camps. Chiawa is the recipient of the Best Safari Property in Africa Award, the Best Safari Guiding Team in Africa award and the Best Ecological Camp in Africa, amongst many more!
Lower Zambezi National Park occupies more than 4 000 square kilometres of prime wilderness area with a rawness and beauty unmatched by any other parks in Southern Africa.
For a fulfilling Zambia holiday, the Lower Zambezi National Park is the current “go-to” destination as it is surrounded by three Game Management Areas (GMAs). These are Luano in the North, Rufunsa to the East and the Chiawa to the West. These GMAs together add more than 14 000 square kilometers of protected wildlife area to the National Park which means tourists can be part of amazing safaris in a vast total of 1.85 million hectares of pure wilderness!
Lower Zambezi is wonderfully untamed, with no tarred roads, and is the rugged playground for healthy populations of lion and leopard. Most of the game is concentrated on the valley floor as the escarpment along the northern end acts as a physical barrier to most of the Park’s animal species. Large herds of elephant, some up to 100 strong, are often seen at the river’s edge and buffalo and water-buck are known to island hop.
Tourists arrive by boat on the Zambezi River or by light aircraft, flying from either Livingstone or Lusaka. When you book a comfy tented chalet at Chiawa Camp, you will sink into your luxury facilities including a private game viewing deck, roll-top bath and outdoor shower with glee. Enjoy fresh culinary delights and meet wonderful Zambian staff at this home away from home safari experience. http://www.journeyinstyle.co.za/zambia/lower-zambezi-national-park/chiawa-camp/

4. South Luangwa National Park
Think of an African destination which boasts the highest density of leopards in the world? Dubbed ‘One of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world’, South Luangwa National Park is a pristine wilderness with the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa.
Situated in the eastern part of Zambia, it is the most accessible of the three parks in the valley of the Luangwa River with some of the best accommodation camps in the country. Nature lovers come here to see the remarkable prides of lion that roam the area and bird watchers to glimpse some of the 400 bird species recorded here.
It is true that the Luangwa Valley, which marks the end of the Great Rift Valley, is one of the remaining unspoilt wilderness areas in Zambia, offering unique safari holiday destinations. The Luangwa River is the life-blood of this wonderful and vital 9 059km² Luangwa National Park, where dry woodland and huge concentrations of game around its oxbow lagoons rate amongst the most intense in Africa!
South Luangwa is the only place where you will see the endemic Thornicroft’s giraffe, with their trademark white legs and white faces and the Crawshay’s zebra, without the brownish ‘shadow-stripe’ of the common (Burchell’s) zebra. All sorts of antelope, including the puku, which is rarely seen outside Zambia, do very well in this breath-taking region.
The best and most popular time to travel into South Luangwa for out of this world safari excursions is May to August when it’s still pleasantly cool and dry. September and October start getting very hot and the humidity is building up, but these are the best months to spot game as they gather close to the river and watering holes.
Kakuli Bush Camp is found at the confluence of the Luwi and Luangwa rivers and is a seasonal South Luangwa safari camp – one of a few that remain open for safari holidays during February and March. This is when the rivers are high and while access is by boa, guests also do a lot of walking in the drier, sandy areas that surround camp. http://www.journeyinstyle.co.za/zambia/south-luangwa-national-park/
